One of America’s very popular country bands is the Rascal Flatts as they call themselves. This band has its origin from Columbus, Ohio. The band consists of only three members who are Gary, Jay and Joe. Gary LeVox is the lead vocalist while Jay DeMarcus does vocals as well as the bass guitar and Joe Don Rooney is the lead guitarist and also vocalist.

The two cousins in the band had formed the band earlier. They had a musical background as they were from a musical family at Ohio. One of the cousins Joe DeMarcus left Ohio to Nashville so that he could get better chances. And he had caught a record deal with a Christian group. This was in the year 1992 and from then five years later he met his cousin and convinced him to get into musical field, so he left his current job.

DeMarcus had met Joe Don Rooney previously when he had just joined Chely Wright’s band. And in some time later he along with his cousin Gary LeVox started to perform in a local pub. As one evening their guitarist dint come for the day’s performance they invited Joe Don Rooney for the lead guitar and after that everything is history.

The band was named as Rascal Flatts by them as this was the place where they had performed first. This place is a famous landmark at Oklahoma. Shortly after this in 1999 a recording company called Lyric Street Record signed them and since then they have not changed to any other recording company.

The band had its first album ‘Rascal Flatts’ released in 2000. This album was a huge hit with the public and also a singles from the album reached top position in the country Billboard chart for country music. They soon released their second album called ‘Melt’ in 2002 which was equally successful as the first one and also proved to be a multi-platinum album.

The band’s last album was released in 2009 and like all their previous albums it was also a hit. It was named ‘Unstoppable’ and it sold more than million copies worldwide. This was their seventh release.

The band was on many tours and at the moment they are on an American Living Unstoppable Tour. This tour started on 2009 and will come to an end this year.
