Promises Promises Tickets

Promises, Promises is based on the 1960 Academy Award-winning Billy Wilder film “The Apartment”.  It tells the story of a life insurance company and Chuck Baxter one of its charming young employees.  Trying to advance at the company, he lends his apartment to executives for their extramarital romantic nights.  Things later become complicated for Chuck when the girl he likes becomes the mistress of one of his executives.  Promises, Promises is a unique popular part of the musical theatre that will finally return to the stage again after 40 years.

  The musical will be choreographed by Tony Award winning choreographer Rob Ashford, who will also make his Broadway directorial debut with the show.  Rob Ashford’s Direction and Choreographys Broadway credits include “Cry-Baby” with a Tony nomination, “Curtains” with a Tony nomination, “the Wedding Singer” with a Tony nomination, “Thoroughly Modern Milie” with a Tony Award for Best Chroegraphy.  He even recently won an award for Outstanding Choreography for his work on the 81^st Annual Academy Awards.  So you know this Broadway show is a sure fire hit.

  The original production of Promises, Promises debuted on Broadway in 1968 in the Shubert Theatre and even had 1,268 performances through 1 Jan 1972.  It was nominated for eight eight Tony Awards and won for Best Actor in a Musical and Best featured Actress in a Musical.  The original cast was also given a Grammy Award.
