  NASCAR racing is one of the most popular sports in America today.  This is a fast-growing sport that reaches thousands of new fans every week.  This sport is fueled by devotion in a three hour morality play that goes every weekend.  Its common to boo the villain, and cheer your hero.  Who will win this week?  The storyline is different every time that green flag falls.  Yet, it plays out in a good familiar way every time and it doesn’t even matter if it’s a night race at Bristol or the Daytona 500.

  The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) was founded in 1947 as a way to make performance standards in stock car championships.  NASCAR has three main racing series, Nextel Cup, the Busch Cup, and the Craftsman Truck Series.

  Many people don’t really understand why others are so obsessed with NASCAR.  To really get into it we recommend two things.

  First, go to a race!  How will you like something you never visited?  A NASCAR experience is an experience for all 5 of your senses.  The bright colors, the sounds of the engines roaring, the screaming fans, the smell of brake dust and rubber, the taste of a cold beverage on a smoking hot day spent with your buddies and all meanwhile your seats are rumbling from the passing cars.  There isn’t much quite like visiting a NASCAR event!

  Second, learn a bit about the even and drivers.  Every person is different and every person can find a match for their favorite racer.  Could it be aggressive Robby Gordon, or maybe competent Matt Kenseth, or one of the other 40 or so drivers that go every single week.
