Lend Me a Tenor Tickets

“Lend Me a Tenor” takes place in the 1930’s and is a screwball comedy.  It takes place when Tito Merelli, the hot tempered and world famous Italian superstar arrives in Cleveland.  He is there to make his debut with the local opera but soon goes missing.  The show presenter, Saunders, conspires to cover for Tito’s absence by using one of his workers.   During all this, chaos truly ensues.

  Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me a Tenor” is looking towards February 2010 as an opening, according to “Variety”.  The farce will star Grey’s Anatomy Alum T.R. Knight with actor Stanley Tucci making his Broadway debut as a director.  The producing group The Araca Group (Urinetown, Wicked) confirmed the target opening date and told Variety that a reading is scheduled for July 6.

  Its also official that Justin Bartha from the popular movie “The Hangover” has signed on to make his Broadway debut in the fourthcoming revival of Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me a Tenor.”  Bartha joins a new cast that may include the previously announced starts Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Brooke Adams, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz and Jan Maxwell.
