Fela tells the story of the man named Fela living in Nigeria.  He is a famous musician who devoted his whole life to fight for human dignity and freedom in Nigeria.  It tells the story of his defiance against the corrupt government and its oppressive military.

This is a musical with a book written by Jim Lewis and Bill Jones.  The music for the musical was done by Fela Kuti with additional music by Jordan Mclean and Aaron Johnson.  It is based off of the real life events of the activist and composer Fela Kuti.  It has won 3 Tony Awards and also won “Best Costume” and “Best Sound Design”, plus “Best Choreography”.
