Dave Mathews Band Tickets

The band Dave Mathews Band, also known as DMB was put together in Charlottesville, Virginia as an “American Jam Band” in 1991.  The members that founded the band were Dave Mathews as guitarist, Violinist Boyd Tinsley, Bassist Stefan Lessard, saxophonist LeRoi Moore and drummer Carter Beauford. 

  LeRoi Moore died later in August 2008 in an unfortunate ATV accident.  Since then a Grammy Award winning Jeff Coffin from “Bela Fleck and the Fleckstones” has filled LeRoi’s position in the band as the saxophonist.  Two more artists, Tim Reynolds and Rashawn Ross have also started touring full time with the band.  The members of Dave Mathews Band have many different genres some including classical, jazz, soul, bluegrass, hip-hop, and rock.  Dave Mathews Band has joined together and created a sound that attracts fans of all types.

  They are well know for their long tours of Europe and the US with different renditions of their songs that can be quite lengthy.  They many times include great video and lighting into their performances.  Dave Mathews band’s latest album, “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King has come out and is placed as number one on Billboard 200.  This makes the band have their fifth time number one debut album.

  Through time the band has also gained a Grammy and has one a “NAACP Chairman’s Award.  Julian Bond has quoted, “They sell out the largest arenas on Earth, but frequently give their music away.”
