Carrie Underwood, the beautiful and gifted artist shot to fame when she attended the American Idol auditions of summer 2004.  It was the long awaited break that she was waiting for and grabbing every opportunity that was thrown at her, she became a celebrity. A list of awards to her name, like the Grammy’s, She has sold several multi-platinum albums after winning the 4^thseason of American Idol.

Even as a child, Carrie had a penchant for music and performed at talent shows. She lived in Checotah, Oklahoma though she was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. When in 1996, she was to have made a giant leap forward, the recording company’s management switched hands and she failed to get her contract.

Carrie, being a strong determined girl decided to concentrate on her studies till she got a break. The famous American Idol show was just what she had been waiting for. Her first audition at St. Louis, Missouri for the show was a great success with Simon Cowell praising her that she would go on to become the winner. She thrashed the competition there and was one of the few contestants to always be voted above the bottom three.

Her great success in the American idol show was not enough however for the budding singer. She released “Some Hearts”, her debut album in the year 2005 and it was a smash hit having sold a whopping 300,000 number of copies.

Carrie’s second album however was one of the biggest successes of her career. “Carnival Ride”  was her second album released in 2007, which went on to become a double platinum album. She released her third album in the year 2009 which too was a consecutive success. It went on to sell more than 700,000 copies just during the first week of its release.
