From Boston, Massachusetts, the Boston Celtics are a professional basketball team.They play on the Eastern Conference on the Atlantic Division in the NBA.Danny Ainge happens to be the President of the basketball operations while Doc Rivers is coach and Wycliffe Grousebeck is the owner of the team.Of all the different NBA franchises, the Boston Celtics have one more NBA Championships than any other team.They also hold the record for the longest consecutive championship winning streak.This is out of all the North American Professional Sports teams.They won 11 championships in only 13 years of time.That’s 8 in a row!These years took place between 1957 and 1969.The TD Garden is their home games arena.
The 1950’s through the 1980’s the Celtics dominated the league and had a great part in all of the playoffs.Though, the team fell into a rut after the second draft pick namely Len Bias died in the year of 1986 and Reggie Lewis who also died in 1993.They did happen to make the playoffs four different times through 1996 to year 2007.The Celtics are returning to their great years with many new players such as Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett.They finally ended up winning their last championship (their 17th)by winning against Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 4-2.This happened in the NBA Finals for year 2008.Of the 10 MVP record awards, 4 of them belong to the Boston Celtics.
